We are recruiting an Expert Front End Engineer to support a large-scale digital modernisation programme within a federal public-sector environment. This programme is highly ambitious, spans multiple projects, and follows a strict delivery timeline running at least until the end of 2028.
The role
You will join a team of experienced, highly competent, and motivated professionals, working closely with UX/UI designers, architects, and other internal stakeholders. This is a hands-on engineering position with a strong focus on analysis, design, and implementation.
This role is not suited for candidates looking for a pure lead, advisory, or consulting function.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop modern, scalable, and responsive web applications using Angular 2+
- Analyse requirements and translate designs and wireframes into clean, semantic, and reusable code
- Integrate and consume RESTful APIs and microservices in the front end
- Define and optimise front-end architecture, state management, and data flows
- Develop and optimise design system libraries and reusable UI components
- Collaborate within agile delivery teams
- Work closely with UX/UI designers and provide feedback on feasibility and optimisation
- Proactively identify challenges, propose alternatives, and recommend solutions within the broader technical and organisational context
- Combine strong teamwork with the ability to work independently and proactively
Required qualifications and experience (mandatory)
- Higher education degree in Computer Science (short or long cycle) from a recognised EU institution
(Diploma must be submitted together with the CV) - Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in front-end application development
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with:
- Angular 2+
- Single Page Applications (SPA)
- Cloud-native front-end applications
- Defining, developing, and consuming APIs
- Web portals (portal technologies or Angular-based solutions)
- Front-end architecture and solution design
- Working within agile delivery teams
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with:
- Development and optimisation of design system library components
- CI/CD pipeline implementation and optimisation (preferably Azure DevOps)
- Strong commitment to continuous learning and staying current with sustainable front-end technologies and best practices
Nice to have
- Hands-on knowledge of Java SE 10+
- Experience with Event-Driven Development and/or Behavior-Driven Development
- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design
- Familiarity with existing building blocks and services within a federal or large public-sector context
